Rain and Change
Posted on | October 30, 2008 |
Today and this weekend, we are going to have a long period of light rain here in they Bay. The west coast wet winter is getting closser, I guess, and for once I am loving it.
My wife and I bought a house prior to our wedding, it’s a small house (1200 sq feet) in a medium size lot (7000 sq feet) in Milpitas. It has a front and side lawn that I’ve been fighting to make pretty. It was quite good when we first saw the house, but the previous owner kinda neglected it during the 7 weeks of closing period,* in the heat of summer. I’ve been fighting hard to make it green again with some success. And now I really welcome the help from nature.
I used to hate rain, because it reduces my mobility. But that was before I had my house and the 65″ DLP TV. Now I welcome the rain. I am a changed man.**
* We had our finances done by Indimac Bank, just weeks before it was taken over by the goverment. They scrutinized us beyond any imagination. We finally got the loan, just days before it got seized. A few weeks after that, our title company also disapear from the horizon.
** For the better or for the worse? You tell me…
