Fedora Vs. Ubuntu

Uzie jokingly said that my wife is smarter than me because she uses Hardy Heron, while I use Fedora 9.
He got it right about my wife being smarter, but as a long time Redhat & Fedora user, I got to at least say something about my OS of choice
.
I choose Fedora because it fits me like an old pair of jeans. Except that the tears and holes are ever tightening. I know where most of the scripts are, and how they are organized. If it doesn’t run well, I have good ideas on how to get it working, fast.
When I installed FC9 on our Optiplex 755, it crashed at the last leg of installation. But it didn’t take me much time to rescue it, and get it working rock solid. It’s now been up for 70 days without rebooting, and it is still feel snappy. That says a lot since I run KDE 4 with 12 virtual desktops, lots of processes, and a few servers.
Ubuntu is good to, no doubt about it. It’s just that it doesn’t provide me with compelling reason to switch yet. Going with the denim analogy again, it’s just a different style of jeans, but it wouldn’t clothe me any better. For my wife, since she didn’t have much linux experience before, the new style doesn’t hurt.
Another thing was the KDE factor. Hardy and Fedora 9 were released at about the same time. However Hardy has KDE 3 while Fedora 9 has KDE 4. I was obliged to choose Fedora 9 last may.
Lastly, talking about being cool by association, Linus himself uses Fedora! Here is for a proof.
People get very religious, though, about distribution choice. Some Eduardo Natali told Linus to switch to Ubuntu to get his Fedora video bug fixed.
Fedora 10 is coming tomorrow!! Make sure you get it:

LOL why did you give it the title “Fedora Vs. Ubuntu”? I think it should be like “Fedora > Ubuntu”
