State of the Onion, Dec 2008

It’s been a while since I was blogging last…
It’s been quite a roller coaster month, and I guess it is now time to finally break the news: I am leaving Spikesource in January. I will be joining my mentor and my lunch buddy, Murugan Pal, at cK12.
The decision was genuinely one of the hardest ones I have had ever made. Spike has been good to me and good for me in the past 3.5 years. The experience of being in a KPCB start-up (if you open your eyes, ears, and minds) is probably comparable to half an MBA (Okay… maybe a quarter). And I made it no secret that I am entrepreneurial at heart, therefore I really value my spike experience.
However, at times, you really know when it’s time to make a drastic move. Just like when I decided to end my single lifestyle (boy… it sounded so bad). Or to have a child (I have yet to make the decission). I know that moving out of Spike to cK12 is going to be good for me. I will write about cK12 and what it does later, it deserves a post of its own.
More on the onion:
I’ve been reading a lot lately. A few things worth mentioning, like the Forbes 400 list, and Google Is My B*&%$! (hint: rhymes with “Witch”).
I plan to start twittering in 2009.
Some where at the back of my head, a new idea is growing: “sometime, I should probably go to a business school…”
I don’t know how many people really read this post, but drop me a note if you do. I’d appreciate it.
