Here is an unsuspecting new years news:

EMC is buying Sourcelabs for an undisclosed amount, here are some sources:

• EMC buys SourceLabs, operator of open source site Swik.net
• EMC reportedly buys SourceLabs, but for what purpose?
  

At conception, SourceLabs had been touted as Spikesource’s direct competitor. Both companies were building opensource stacks. However, as time goes by, both companies evolved differently.

UPDATE:

ZDnet reported that SourceLabs will be part of EMC’s personal backup division, Decho. Makes sense…
